I spent a long time speculating along those and similar lines, but I think the author really does mean to restrict LoS to 45 degrees, hence that optional rule about LoS Charges. Outside that angle units are completely blind unless they are Mounted Skirmishers.doctorphalanxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11805618584243510174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654358191889198506.post-43882768845313583242018-12-19T17:57:49.788+00:002018-12-19T17:57:49.788+00:00I have the rules on Kindle, but have not used them...I have the rules on Kindle, but have not used them and agree with you that the wording can confuse ......

But, would this interpretation work;

SEEING a unit is separate from Arc of fire. So a unit only has to be partly within the arc of fire to be shot at, BUT must be fully visible, i.e.no part of the base can be hidden due to an obstacle etc.

This supposes that a unit can SEE in any direction (i.e. the target is visible), but for shooting purposes, Horse archers are unlimited and foot archers must have at least part of the target within their fire arc. It might be better if the rules had said line of fire instead of line of sight.

Just a thought with fresh eyes.

Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.com
